The studio has designed four collections for Marburg Wallcoverings as part of the exclusive Art Borders series. In common with previous product commissions, the project represents the fusion of technical innovation and artistic vision.
The signature designs amplify the sense of perspective and fluidity characteristic of Zaha Hadid’s work in two-dimensional form – available in 9 metre wide, 3.3 metre high repeating panels, the drawings have no discernible beginning or end and are conceived to set rooms in perpetual motion.
Each design is available in a bespoke selection of colour ways: Elastika, a layered composition of rich berry tones, combined with silver, black, white, copper hues and a deep forest green; Stria, a bold graphic design with the effect of undulating ribbons emerging from a wall in shades of grey and silver; Swirl, with an endless merging of warm reds, cool greys and iridescent petrol tones; and Cellular, a suspended explosion of relief voids in white, black and silver.
