Eckart Schwerdtfeger Associate MSc ETH, ARB, AKBW
Eckart Schwerdtfeger joined Zaha Hadid Architects in 2015 and leads the BIM implementation of several large-scale projects and competitions, in particular Sberbank Technopark, Russia. He develops the global ZHA BIM workflows by writing custom software, plugins and scripts to effectively facilitate, optimise and automate BIM and cross-application tasks and to enable the design team to contribute to the BIM models more directly and fluently.
Eckart is an architect with 12 years of experience in all project phases and working on high-profile international projects in Europe, Russia, China and the Middle East. Prior to his time at Zaha Hadid Architects he worked for LAVA, Coop Himmelb(l)au and Behnisch Architects. During this time, he parametrically designed, optimised and implemented several remarkable facades, worked as computational designer, BIM manager and programmer.
Eckart received his diploma of Architecture from ETH Zurich, Switzerland in 2005. He is a registered architect in Germany and the UK.
Eckart was a Teaching Assistant for the Chair of Architecture & Construction at ETH Zurich from 2003-2004 and has presented on several international conferences, e.g. “Custom Computational Workflows for BIM Design Implementation” at Autodesk University London, Germany and Las Vegas.
