Marie-Perrine Placais Lead Architect
Marie-Perrine joined Zaha Hadid Architects in 2008 and has since worked on a broad range of commissions and competitions including the construction site of the 25,000 m2 PierresVives Cultural Centre in Montpellier, France; the Kartal Pendik Masterplan in Istanbul,Turkey; the Schematic Design stage of the Grand Theatre de Rabat in Morocco as well as all stages for two high-end residential projects in Belgium.
Prior to joining ZHA Architects her experience has ranged in scale from large urban design projects to hand-made prototypes. Marie-Perrine first worked in France as a project architect/manager for urban renewal projects. She then moved to Shanghai, China, in 2005 and collaborated on several architecture and urban planning developments for both private and public clients including the Shanghai Expo Villlage and the Shanghai South Station Masterplan.
Education & Teaching
Marie-Perrine holds Masters degrees from the École d’Architecture Paris-Malaquais (2000); and the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences-Po) in Urban Planning (2001).
Her teaching experience includes workshops, design juries and lectures in France (Europan 6, Grand Projet de Ville de Rouen), China (Shanghai Tongji University) and Brazil (Architecture sans Frontières). She is currently co-directing the Lyon Visiting School in France for the Architectural Association.
