Accolades for Zaha Hadid from The Sunday Times Magazine and The Architects’ Journal

Zaha Hadid has been included in the Sunday Times Magazine’s 2012 list of the ‘50 most influential Britons of the past 50 years’.  The newspaper’s list, ‘Makers & Shakers 1962-2012’ explained “Zaha Hadid’s buildings are seriously sensuous and sexy. The first woman to win the Pritzker award for architecture, the Iraqi-British innovator sometimes struggled to get her work built… fortunately her stunning London Aquatics Centre was given the thumbs up.’

Hadid was also named as the woman who has made the greatest contribution to women in architecture in the Architect’s Journal’s first ‘Women in Architecture’ survey.  Hadid was “praised for showing how female architects can be well respected and successful…She has achieved fantastic things over the course of her career…”
