‘Drawing Ambience – Alvin Boyarksi and The Architectural Association’ exhibition at the Rhode Island School of Design Museum

The exhibition brings together a selection of drawings and paintings by many of today’s leading architects when they were students at the Architectural Association (AA) under the tutelage of the late Alvin Boyarski.

It examines how the most ground-breaking ideas in architecture have been expressed through drawing, an activity that allows concepts to be discovered, explored and experienced.

Some of the works created during that period are still shaping architecture today and the research led the way for the development of the incredible advances in design, material and construction technologies we use today.

For Boyarski, drawing was not only a representational medium, but also a form of architecture in its own right, reflecting the climate of resistance, change, and experimentation that marked Boyarsky’s work as an innovative educator.

Exhibition ends 02 August.
