Debuting at Baselworld in March this year, the collection developed from 16 months of collaboration between Zaha Hadid and the 112-year-old Danish silversmiths Georg Jensen.

Engineered and refined using 3-dimensional design and manufacturing processes, Lamellae has been crafted in sterling silver, black rhodium set with black diamonds and limited edition pieces in gold. Combining Hadid’s unwavering belief in the power of invention with Georg Jensen’s rich traditions and craftsmanship, the collection is both sculptural and sensuous.

The relationship was symbiotic, “a constant process of balance, proportion and scale,” Zaha Hadid said during the Basel debut.

“From the beginning, we spoke a similar design language,” explains Georg Jensen’s managing director Meeling Wong. “The curvilinear forms, organic silhouettes and sweeping lines that make up Hadid’s architectural DNA—are engrained within the collection.”
