Geometry of Tall Buildings' panel discussion, 29 January 2018, RIBA, London

Organised by Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA) in conjuction with CTBUH UK Chapter and ABB, this second event in the series investigates the design and geometry of tall buildings of the future.

Starting from the inter-dependent relationship between architectural geometry and structural systems, the discussions explore the increasing requirements of integration of engineering and architecture in supertall towers.

- What are the main drivers in designing tall towers' geometry?
- Are aerodynamic form and geometry more appropriate to increasingly tall buildings?
- How can collaborations between different disciplines improve towers' overall performance and sustainability?
- How can new digital tools and latest technologies contribute to the success of a tall building?
- How are architectural and structural design responding to requirements for efficiency, wind loads, core position, and vertical transportation in towers?

The panel of architects and engineers will present their research, with a focus on increasing the collaborative process between the two disciplines.
