Forest Green Rovers Eco Stadium to be presented at the AR Future Project Awards winners webinar

Following the Eco Park Stadium for Forest Green Rovers being named winner of the AR Future Project Awards 2021 organised by The Architectural Review in collaboration with MIPIM, Zaha Hadid Architects Director Jim Heverin will present the project at the winners webinar on the 15th July 2021.

In addition to winning the ‘Sports & Stadia’ category, the Eco Park Stadium was also awarded this years ‘Sustainability Prize. A window into tomorrow’s cities, the AR Future Project Awards celebrates excellence in unbuilt projects around the world.

When completed, Eco Park Stadium will become the new home of Forest Green Rovers Football Club with important new facilities for its local community.

With the team’s community and supporters at its core, fans will be as close as five meters from the pitch. The stadium’s continuous spectator bowl will maximise matchday atmosphere and incorporates the club’s future growth.

Establishing a holistic vision for the site, Eco Park Stadium will embody low carbon construction methods and operational processes and will be the first all wood football stadium - with almost every element made of sustainably sourced timber. As a building material, laminated timber is highly durable, safe and recyclable.

Forest Green Rovers’ Eco Park Stadium aims to be carbon neutral (or even carbon negative with the provision of on-site renewable energy generation) - demonstrating sustainable architecture can be dynamic and beautiful.
