Cosi Fan Tutte

  • Walt Disney Concert Hall, LA, USA, USA
  • 23/05/2014 – 31/05/2014
  • Complete

The LA Phil completes the ambitious three year Mozart/Da Ponte opera project with Così fan tutte, led by Gustavo Dudamel at Walt Disney Concert Hall, featuring installations designed by renowned Pritzker Prizewinning architect Dame Zaha Hadid and costumes designed by Hussein Chalayan, one of the most visionary designers working in fashion today.

Joining Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic in this fully staged production is a cast of internationally renowned soloists.

The LA Phil’s Mozart/Da Ponte trilogy unites iconic architects, leading fashion designers and distinguished international casts to create unique representations of these timeless works. The inaugural production, Don Giovanni (May 2012), featured sets and costumes designed by L.A.-based team Frank Gehry and Rodarte. The second installment, The Marriage of Figaro (May 2013), brought together Paris based architect and designer Jean Nouvel and Azzedine Alaia.

Acclaimed director Christopher Alden returns to direct Cosi fan tutte, which marks his third collaboration with the LA Phil. Alden directed Don Giovanni in May 2012 and The Marriage of Figaro in May 2013. Lighting designer Adam Silverman joins the Cosi fan tutte creative team; Adam was lighting designer for Don Giovanni.
