Di Ding Associate
Profile
Di joined Zaha Hadid Architects in 2013 and became an Associate in 2019. Di has managed and worked on a range of new build, redevelopment, and listed status projects, mainly in China. These span from masterplan, mixed-use developments, office, cultural, residential, retail and commercial properties. Over the past few years, her prime focus has been as the project lead delivering the International Exhibition Centre II project in Beijing, China, Unicorn Island Masterplan project in Chengdu, China and a company headquarters in China. As a core team member Di also worked on Leeza SOHO and Wangjing SOHO in Beijing.
She has experience running, overseeing, and delivering on multiple complex projects at various scales. Her set of skills is wide-ranging, including management of the project program and consultants developing creative strategies to increase efficiency on-site and bringing more value to clients. She is a highly driven and organised individual familiar with succeeding in high pressure environments and delivering on projects successfully while maintaining flexibility to adapt to new challenges that might present themselves.
Prior to joining ZHA, Di gained professional experience while working in the UK and China for various companies, namely Minimaforms, London and Pure Design LLC., Shanghai.
Education and Teaching
Di received a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Tongji University in Shanghai, China and she obtained a master’s in Architecture + Urbanism from the Architectural Association Design Research Laboratory (AADRL) in 2013.
Di was a tutor for AA Visiting School in Beijing in 2014.
