Duo Chen Lead Designer M.Arch(AA), B.Arch

Profile
Duo Chen joined Zaha Hadid Architects’ London office in 2017 and was made Lead Designer in 2021. He has worked across different typologies including office, retail, cultural, residential, hotel, transport and masterplan. Duo Chen has been the lead designer on a number of competitions. In 2019, he was the lead designer in the competition for OPPO Headquarters in Shenzhen and then worked on coordination, design and facade rationalization at all stages of the project. In 2023, he was the project architect for an iconic tower in the Middle East.  Duo Chen is an all-round architect with strong design skills and extensive technical coordination experience. He is also a facade rationalization expert in charge of complex facade rationalization in the development design stages for several projects such as OPPO headquarters and Sberbank Technopark.

Before joining ZHA, he worked for Cecil Balmond Studio in London.

Education
Duo Chen gained his MArch degree from Architectural Association School of Architecture with project distinction. His work was published in international publications such as Architectural Design (UK) and World Architecture Review (China).
