Iraklis Kourounis Lead Architect BA, Dip, ARB, TEE

Profile                                                                                              Iraklis joined ZHA as a senior architect in 2018, having previously worked for renowned architectural practices in London and Athens. He brought all-round experience in large-scale international projects that include masterplanning, sports architecture, residential, retail and hospitality.

Since joining the practice, Iraklis has worked in several competitions in China, Europe and Latin America for masterplans, offices, mixed-use developments and a space station. He now works on the design, planning and complex geometry rationalization for the later stages of a retail masterplan and a skyscraper in China.

Education                                                                                        Iraklis received his diploma and bachelor in Architecture from the University of Greenwich. He is a qualified Architect in Greece and the UK, holding Certification in Professional Practice from the Architectural Association.
