Juan Montiel Lead Designer
Juan studied architecture at the Universidad Rafael Urdaneta in Maracaibo, Venezuela, where he is a registered architect. He joined Zaha Hadid Architects in 2015 after completing his master’s degree in architecture and urbanism at the Design Research Laboratory of the Architectural Association.
In the last 5 years, Juan has worked on the concept and schematic design of a variety of projects spawning different scales, from luxury interiors to large-scale infrastructure. He was part of the team that won the Shenzhen Science and Technology Museum in 2019 and since then he has been working on the museum throughout the different stages.
Previously he was a member on the design team for Masaryk Railway Station Central Business District in Prague, Navi Mumbai International Airport in India and a train station in China, among others. Juan specialises in 3D design workflows and visualisation, with a focus on parametric modelling.
