Profile
Maria joined ZHA as a newly registered architect in 2018 and became a Lead Architect in 2023. She previously worked in London-based practices, focusing mainly on large-scale international projects, providing computational solutions to complex geometries and design systems.
At ZHA, Maria has worked on a wide variety of competitions and new-build projects in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and South America, including some of ZHA’s high-profile projects, such as BEEAH Headquarters in Sharjah and the Trojena Discovery Tower in Saudi Arabia. Her personal involvement spans various roles and responsibilities, from design studies at concept design stages to delivering intricate façade design system packages at design development and construction stages.
Education & Academia
Maria is a qualified architect in the UK and Greece and received her architectural education at the University of Westminster in London, UK. She completed her MArch diploma with distinction, and her design project was awarded at the Dezeen x MINI Living Future Urban Home Competition. Maria is an Associate Lecturer at Oxford Brookes, UK and a visiting Lecturer at the University of Nicosia, Cyprus.
