Melhem Sfeir Lead Designer
Profile Melhem joined Zaha Hadid Architects in 2015. He had previously worked in a number of design offices and construction firms in Lebanon and the UK. Since joining ZHA, he has worked on a wide range of projects such as the Opus in Dubai, where he developed different parts of the interiors of the Hotel and Serviced Apartments.
In 2016, Melhem was part of the core team for the winning proposal and project development, of the Sberbank Technopark in Moscow, where he developed different algorithms that helped define the project. He has been part of the lead team for the Admiral Serebryakov Embankment in Novorossiysk, the Rublyovo-Arkhangelskoye Smart City in Moscow and the Sverdlovsk Philharmonic Concert Hall in Yekaterinburg.
In 2019, he was the lead designer for the competition of the OPPO Headquarters in Shenzhen, and is part of the design coordinators team for the project development phases. Melhem’s experience ranges between Concept and Development stages, with a focus on complex geometry and design computation.
Education Melhem holds a Masters in Architecture and Urbanism from the Architectural Association, London, and has previously studied architecture in Notre Dame University in Lebanon.
He is an associate researcher part of the Computer Science department in UCL, London and formerly, a researcher part of Kokkugia and Cecil Balmond Studio. He is a registered architect in OEA, Beirut.
