Profile Michail has 8 years of experience at ZHA designing and delivering a wide range of aviation, cultural, residential and master planning projects in Europe, UAE, North Africa and Asia, as well as designing a variety of unique products. He specialises in both generative and parametric design, automation, robotics, fabrication and rationalisation, and has taken a lead design role on many projects from Concept Stage through to Construction Documents stage.
Michail is currently senior designer for the Grand Theatre de Rabat in Morocco, where he has been responsible for the design of the VIP room and auditorium chair from Concept to Design Development stage. He has also worked as lead designer on a number of projects, including Mercury Tower in Malta, 2 Murray Road in Hong Kong, Navi Mumbai International Airport in India and Chengdu Contemporary Art Centre in China. Michail has also worked as chief designer on many of the firm’s products from Zaha Hadid Design collections.
Education, Teaching & Publications Michail obtained a diploma in architecture from the University of Creative Arts in Canterbury, 2010, going on to receive his master’s in architecture from the Architectural Association’s Design Research Lab in London, 2012. In 2014, Michail taught design at both the Architectural Association and Bartlett School of Architecture in London. He has produced a number of publications for the likes of Forbes, Wired, the Architect’s Journal, ArchDaily, Wonderland and Engineering.com, with a focus on 3D-printing and artificial intelligence.
