Simon Yu Associate Director BSc(Hons)
Profile Simon first joined ZHA in 1995 to work on two London cultural and civic competitions. After a period of working internationally, he then re-joined ZHA in 2004, and has since become the head of ZHA’s Hong Kong office, based in China.
Simon was a project architect for the Guangzhou Opera House in China as well as the Jockey Club Innovation Tower higher-education facility in Hong Kong. Simon was the project team leader for the 115,000m2 Changsha Meixihu International Culture & Arts Centre in China. He is also currently the project team leader for a master planned resort project in China. He worked on ZHA’s competition-winning design for a new 40,000m2 habitable bridge over the river Thames in London (commissioned concept design), and he was a project architect for ZHA’s competition-winning design for the Dubai Opera House.
