Sobitha Ravichandran Lead Researcher
Profile Sobitha joined Zaha Hadid Architects in the spring of 2013, and has been delivering international architectural projects across all stages of design from concept through to completion. She has worked on a wide range of projects and competitions around the world, spanning residential, retail, cultural, corporate and mixed-use sectors. As part of the Computation and Design Group (ZH CODE), she conducts research on Agent Based Modelling and Simulation, and its application in architectural design.
Education Sobitha obtained her Master’s degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the Architectural Association, Design Research Lab in London (2013), and has previously obtained her professional undergraduate degree from Ramaiah Institue of Technology, India (2010). She has been a visiting critic in architecture schools in both India and the UK.
She is currently a PhD research fellow at the Universität Für Angewandte Kunst Wien. She has taught for several years at the Architectural Association, where she assisted Patrik Schumacher’s studio at the DRL on Agent Based Modelling.
With a focus on parametric design and agent based modelling, she has taught and presented work at various workshops, professional conferences and symposiums in UK, Austria and in India. Her research has been exhibited and published in international academic journals and conference proceedings on computational design.
