Profile
Subharthi Guha is an architect and urban planner, with design experience across over 50 projects in 30 countries. He is skilled at winning competitions, developing unique concepts and construction of highly creative work.
Having worked alongside architect Charles Correa on numerous international buildings, masterplans and rural re-development projects, he joined Zaha Hadid Architects, London in 2010. His experience ranges across all sectors including high-end residential, commercial, transportation, infrastructure, and retail. During 13 years at ZHA, Subharthi has worked on projects at all stages from competition, initial design ideas, to leading an in-house team and on-site supervision. Key projects include the King Abdullah Financial District Metro Station in Riyadh, City life Tower in Milan, Studio City Phase 2 in Macau, a football stadium in Denmark, residential towers in Brisbane, and high-end private houses in Asia.
Research and Teaching
Subharthi has been awarded an honorary professorship at, XJTLU in January 2022. He has taught and lectured globally since 2008 on innovative design and city planning at United Nations creative economies and various institutes across continents including the Architectural Association – London, Washington State University – USA, New school – San Diego, University of Maryland – USA, Savannah College of Art and Design – USA, XJTLU Suzhou – China, CEPT – Ahmedabad and SPA Delhi/Vijayawada, India.
He has been widely recognised for his 15-year ongoing research on new growth models of city planning and urban reconfigurations. All the works on architecture and city planning strategies have been awarded and widely published while some have been adopted as part of urban advisory boards in India and the UK.
