Profile
Since joining Zaha Hadid Architects in 2016, Maria has worked on a diverse range of architectural and masterplan projects leading the design development process and focusing on delivering design solutions by utilising parametric workflows. Maria is an architect with a diverse background and a wealth of experience in delivering projects from concept to completion with the aid of design technology, parametric and computational optimisation, pushing the envelope of architecture and design realisation. Her experience ranges from cultural and large-scale commercial to aviation, transport, residential and urban design.
Projects
Maria has worked on several projects and competitions and has led the design development and delivery of high complexity projects from concept to later design stages and construction with a focus on architectural design and management through technology and collaborative methodologies in multi-disciplinary and diverse teams. Her projects include Sberbank Technopark, Rublyovo-Arkhangelskoye smart city, Navi Mumbai International Airport, Sverdlovsk Philharmonic Concert Hall in Yekaterinburg, Oppo HQ in Shenzhen and recently a masterplan of high-rise towers in Wuhan and a high-rise cultural centre in Shenzhen. Previously she has worked as an architect in Greece, focusing on luxury residential design, the creation of house typologies for new urban planning developments and urban planning.
Education & Lecturing
Maria has studied in LJMU and in the AA. After receiving her diploma, she advanced her interest in concept creation, the theory of architecture and applied theory, with a Masters in Architecture and Urbanism on the subject of “Narrative, Film and Architecture”. She has completed RIBA part I II III and obtained her professional qualification from the Technical Chamber of Greece and the Architectural Association London. Maria is a registered architect in the UK and Greece and has specialised in Design Technology focusing on design intent implementation, from concept to realisation. She has lectured at the University of Birmingham in the UK while internationally she has represented ZHA in design and construction conferences for Russia and Kazakhstan in 2021.
