Michele Salvi Senior Associate Dipl Arch, OrdAR, ARB
Profile
Since joining ZHA in 2004, Michele has been involved in a wide range of projects in Europe, Asia and Australia. He has worked as project architect on transport, hotel, residential and mixed-use towers developments, and has specialized in management and delivery of international projects. In 2018 he completed Morpheus hotel in Macau (China) and in 2017 Napoli-Afragola High Speed Train Station (Italy). He’s currently project manager of a number of projects in the Baltic countries.
Education
Michele studied architecture in Italy at Università degli studi di Firenze and graduated cum laude in 2003. From 2001 to 2004, he worked as researcher and designer at GR.est and Avatar Architettura, investigating new scenarios in architecture, design and communication.
He is a registered architect in the UK (ARB) and Italy (OdAR).
Projects
Michele is currently project director of Vilnius Railway Station, recently won in competition. He’s project manager of Rail Baltic Ulemiste Terminal, a new high speed train station and transport hub in Tallinn (Estonia) currently in tender stage, and a 25000m² office building in Vilnius (Lithuania).
He has previously worked as project associate for the Mandarin Oriental Melbourne, a 185-metre tower including hotel and residences, wrapped in a sculptural filigree façade.
Michele has been working for several years as project architect for Morpheus, a 40-storey, 150,000m² hotel and casino tower, comprising 780 guest rooms, dramatic public spaces, event facilities and restaurants. Morpheus has won numerous awards, was published worldwide and was listed as one of the World’s Greatest Places on TIME magazine. Previously he has worked on other international projects including Napoli-Afragola High Speed Train Station in Italy, where he was involved from early design stages to on-site artistic direction and construction.
