Stephane Vallotton Director
Profile
Stephane joined Zaha Hadid Architects in 2005 and was appointed Director in 2023. Since joining, Stephane has been involved in several of the office’s major projects in Europe, China and North Africa. Stephane leads teams of highly creative architects and designers who together have been responsible for delivering high quality projects across a range of sectors including mixed use high rise, office, residential and government buildings.
Before joining Zaha Hadid Architects worked in Switzerland and Germany.
Education and Teaching
Stephane has his Bachelor’s degree from Plymouth University (1994) and his Post Graduate Diploma in Architecture from the University of North London (1998). He obtained his Post Graduate Certificate in Professional Practice in 2004. Stephane is RIBA registered.
Project Experience Overview
On joining the office, Stephane was the Project Architect for Zaha Hadid Architect’s first high rise building, the new headquarters for the French shipping firm CMA-CGM. This new office tower was the first ventilated double skin façade to be implemented on a high-rise building in France.
More recently Stephane has worked on the design of the new headquarters for Taikang insurance company in Wuhan, the CECEP Shanghai Campus, Al Janoub stadium, government buildings in North Africa and various competitions.
Currently, Stephane is delivering the company’s first major refurbishment project. Le Schuylkill residential tower in Monaco dates from 1963 and is undergoing an extensive refurbishment and extension due to be delivered in 2027.
