Profile
Tommaso is a researcher and registered architect (ARB, RIBA) who works as part of Zaha Hadid Architects Computation and Design Group (ZHACODE). Tommaso’s research focuses on architectural geometry, geometry processing, numerical methods for design and optimization for digital and robotic fabrication. Tommaso has over 10 years’ experience in research based architectural practice, working on a diverse range of projects including technology demonstrators, cultural and art projects, residential developments, tall buildings, façade design and masterplans.
Before joining Zaha Hadid Architects Tommaso had been running a design and computation research practice named Synthetic Morphologies. He previously worked with Studio Roland Snooks, SPAN Architects, Co-de-iT and GPA Partners, amongst others.
Education & Teaching
Tommaso holds a BArch Hons (2007) in Science of Architecture and MArch Hons (2010) in Architecture from the University of Florence.
Tommaso is a lecturer in MSc Architectural Computation at the Bartlett School of Architecture UCL in London, where he teaches one of the research studios. He has previously taught and lectured in several workshops and academic courses in collaboration with the Architectural Association School of Architecture (AAVS program), Aarhus School of Architecture, Tongji University (Digital Futures), Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna, University of Bologna and University of Genova, amongst others.
