Profile
Davide joined ZHA in 2009. Having previously worked in architectural firms in Italy and the Netherlands, he became associate in 2021.
Davide has been integral to several international projects and competitions while at the office, namely the new Napoli-Afragola High Speed Train Station, Morpheus Hotel in Macau and the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Melbourne. He worked from concept design to construction documentation and he is specialized in the rationalization of complex geometries.
Education
Davide has a master’s degree in Architecture cum laude from the Polytechnic University of Turin and is a registered architect in Italy and the UK. His prize-winning thesis was entitled “Premio Nardi: Innovative technologies and complex shapes” and he was a visiting student at the Sci_arc Southern California Institute of Architecture, Los Angeles, in 2005.
Teaching
Davide has taught at the Welsh School of Architecture, UK, the Polytechnic University of Turin and IUAV University of Architecture in Venice in collaboration with the Architectural Association London and GSAPP Columbia University New York.
He also taught a Rhinoceros and Grasshopper workshop in Rome and a Maya workshop in Florence. He is the co-founder of Co-de-It (Computational Design Italy) and co-director of the AAST Advanced Architecture Settimo Tokyo.
Publication
The scientific paper “Erosion Swarm Behaviour: body suit design through an Agents Based System” was published in MD Journal – Parametric Design (2017), and the editorial “Data-driven<>geometry mutation, the change of the paradigm in Architecture” was published in AREA 124 – New Geometries (2012).
