Broad Art Museum at MSU, East Lansing, Michigan listed as one of America’s best small-town museums by Time Magazine

“…a small town is precisely the kind of place where a stellar art collection fits in… (small towns) have inspired American artists for generations…” explains Time Magazine when presenting the list of America’s best small-town museums.

Since opening in 2012, the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum has become integral to the life of the university and East Lansing, creating greater cultural awareness, community engagement as well as significantly raising the profile of the arts at MSU and across the region. Welcoming visitors from all 50 states and 80 countries in its first year, the museum is a beacon for the arts as well as public identity of the university and serves as a semaphore for the dynamism of an institution transformed.

In addition to its ambitious program of acclaimed exhibitions and events, the Broad Art Museum hosts popular educational and family events, concerts as well as other initiatives for every possible audience—simultaneously exploring the specifics of its community and also those impacting people around the globe.
