Nova Shoe showcased in the Victoria & Albert Museum’s ‘Pleasure & Pain’ exhibition

This exhibition looks at the extremes of footwear from around the globe, presenting around 200 pairs of shoes ranging from a sandal decorated in pure gold leaf originating from ancient Egypt to contemporary designs by today’s most Avant-garde designers.

Incorporating intricate striations juxtaposed with dramatic realignments that convey the shoe’s primary structure and express the dynamic forces applied by the wearer’s every step, the Nova Shoe for United Nude uses injection moulding, as well as hand-molded methods such as vacuum casting to create its cantilevered 16cm (6.25 in) heel, while rotation moulding enabled the shoes' seamless detailing.

The 'Pleasure & Pain’ exhibition  opens to the public on 13 June 2015 and runs until 31 January 2016.
