Zaha Hadid Design’s monogram bag within ‘Louis Vuitton X’ exhibition

Zaha Hadid Design’s ‘Icone’ series reinterpretation of Louis Vuitton’s classic Bucket bag will be exhibited within the new ‘Louis Vuitton X’ exhibition in Los Angeles showcasing more than 180 works from LV’s archive.

‘Louis Vuitton X’ will present heritage pieces comprising early 20th century trunks and perfume bottles, together with monogram bags reworked by Zaha Hadid and others including Karl Lagerfeld, Rei Kawakubo, Cindy Sherman and Frank Gehry.

Zaha Hadid’s 2006 reinterpretation of the iconic LV Bucket Bag employs extrusion and distortion to create a new family of hybrid typologies – a pochette and clutch that sit within the larger bucket bag which has been ergonomically formed to be worn on the shoulder. Hadid’s design is an ensemble of interchangeable parts which can be rearranged and combined for different occasions.
