Zaha Hadid Design is participating in 10x10 London 2019 for Article 25

Article 25’s mission is to help improve the futures of vulnerable communities - often living in the aftermath of disasters - through building excellent, resilient infrastructure and space for health, education and fulfilling livelihoods. 10x10 London is Article 25’s annual fundraising event.

10x10 asks architects, designers and artists to produce artwork inspired by the environment they help to create, as well as providing a commentary and critique on the constantly changing landscape of the capital. A grid of 100 squares is cast over an area of London, dedicating a grid square to each artist to respond to through an artwork.

The 10x10 theme this year focuses on London’s Isle of Dogs, incorporating the River Thames and also parts of Greenwich and Poplar.

Zaha Hadid Design’s piece is an evocation of Zaha Hadid Architects’ Mind Zone project created for the Millennium Dome celebrations of 2000. Continuing Hadid’s paper relief method of representation that explores the surface of structure through light, shade and extrusion, the 10x10 relief reinterprets the formal relationships within the Mind Zone’s design.

Article 25’s 10x10 auction will take place on Monday 18 November at Royal Institute of British Architects, 66 Portland Place, London.

Tickets for the event are available here.
